I have been to many locations in the carribean. Bahamas, Bermuda, Turks and Caicos, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, specifically Punta Cana ( 3 Times at different locations). Not to mention a couple of cruises in the carribean but they do not count because of the short time spent in the islands that we were in port at.... more

We just returned from 12 days at the Bahia, Tulum section. We booked this resort based on reviews here and a few recommendations from friends that have been there. We loved every minute of our stay and would definitely return. -Room: Our room was a 3rd-floor ocean view, and it was perfect. We had no problems with the room or... more

Viva Wyndham Maya

Just returned from Wyndham Maya and must admit we were a bit disappointed with the hotel, mainly the accommodation and the attitude of some of the day staff. We were unfortunate enough to be allocated an inferior room which was badly maintained. We had no towels on arrival late at night, the toilet flush wouldnt work, and after several phone... more

We have recently returned from a 2 week holiday at the Riu Palace. The hotel is incredible, only one negative aspect about this hotel was a group of americans that arrived during our first week for a wedding, they were noisy, unruly and the behaviour of one in particular was totally unacceptable, but the hotel was not to blame for this.Accomodation was immaculate, service was... more

DH and I just returned from our 6 days at SMB. We had a wonderful time. Most importantly, we enjoyed the resort and would recommend it to our family and friends although I prefer Secrets Capri since it is smaller. Checkin-In Took less than 10 minutes. We original booked a tropical view but were upgraded to a Jr. Suite with... more

This was our choice for a honeymoon. Let me start by saying that this hotel has great rooms, good food and wonderful service...we felt thankful in those areas. I did alot of looking around and for the price this resort seemed good. If you are looking for a resort with lots of organized activity at the pool and a party... more

My family had another absolutely perfect stay at the Shangi La Caribe! From the moment we arrived we were treated as the most important person there, like we were part of their family! We started our planning by going thru a tour book and choosing a few different resorts that caught our eye.. ABR was one that kept coming to the top of the list. I had only 5 days to recharge the batteries and thought what better place than Playa Del Carmen. Thanks to fellow travellers, I found La Tortuga and what a little gem it turned out to bet. I think this resort was awesome! The reception staff and manager Maria Were fenomenal! We were greated and we had a nice cool welcoming drink. I read every review of this resort before going, and found that they all had validity; good and bad. This was my 8th trip to MX, and I have stayed in every major resort area, and a couple not so popular. I'm not sure where to start, and I don't mean to ramble, but here it goes.... Just got back from Secrets Maroma and I loved every moment of it. Rather that the typical all encompassing review, I thought I'd share some of my favorite memories from the week: - Sipping my first Mayan Coffee, a delectable mix of tequila and coffee in a caramelized sugar rimmed glass - Sitting at the pool side bar drinking margaritas,... more
