The hotel is located in between a rice field and a small village with a separate building with a restaurant on stilts. The rooms were large with working indoor showers and bathrooms...a relief after a 5 day trek! The food at the restaurant was uniformly excellent- fresh ingredients, well portioned and an excellent value. The service was great as well.... more

Wow, an adventure not to be missed! From picking me up from the hotel, to booking dinners, mountain flight, and of course, Tiger Tops Jungle Lodge, it was a first-class experience! I have traveled quite a bit and this tops my list. The service cannot be beat. Upon arriving at the Tiger Tops airport there was a buffet lunch waiting... more

I have spent some days in the village of Sauraha. I wanted to work as a Mahourt and that could be possible with the help of Tiger Camp lodge staff and some nice Mahouts. Of course, I did the safari tour, elephant bath but I also cut tonns of grass, make some elephant food (with long grass and rice, cut... more

My husband and I stayed at this jungle lodge during our 3 day visit to Chitwan National Park. We originally wanted to stay somewhere else but there was no availability so we ended up here. We had every intention of leaving to go to our first preference, but the lodge was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly so... more

What a fabulous place to get away from it all. Right from the Land Rover trip to get in to the Bedford TK truck to get out the whole place is just exhilerating. The lodges are pleasant, no electicity but that adds to the charm. Hot water for showers, verandahs to relax and watch the bird life, so tranquil. Food... more

The rooms are carpeted and tired with hard beds, the bathrooms where dirty and there was not so many animals that I had hoped for. The food was also boring. but there is a nice outdoor terrace where you can have a beer in the evening and listen to the animal sounds of the jungle. We saw one rhino, two... more

This is a basic but delightful safari lodge on the edge of the Rapti river near Royal Chitwan National Park. The lodge consists of comfortable cottages (Nepali huts built with wood and elephant grass and covered with mud or Modern huts with carpet and bathroom). There is 24hr running hot and cold water. There is a beautiful garden with a... more

Tiger Tops Tented Camp-excellent and attentive without intrusive service throughout our stay. If you like to view wildlife and do not mind sleeping in a big tent inside the park, this is the place. This place is not on the same level of comfort as the Grumeti Camp in Africa but it is still very good. There are a total... more

First of all if you dont like being in the middle of nowhere, in the midle of mother nature, dont go there. Chitwan tiger tops is a whole experience by itself. First you could arrive by megauli private tiger top airport, in a yeti airline plane (scary) then you catch a 4x4, you cross a river, you change car, take... more

What can I say. Excellent! This place is Wonderful. all the staff are friendly, especially Ram! We rode elephants, went on a canoe trip, had a jungle walk, a jeep safari, saw local traditional dancing, lounged, relaxed. The food and service were both excellent We were sad to leave and would love to stay again. After the chaos of Kathmandu... more

This lodge really is great. It is situated right in the park, so it takes a couple of hours to drive there from the town / airport, through deep rivers and along jungle tracks. Once there the atmosphere is just right. The accommodation is nice, with each lodge having separate rooms. There is only limited electricity in the dark, so... more

Stayed her for 2 nights and had the best time. The staff are so friendly & knowledgeable, the rooms are basic but clean & comfortable, the solar hot water was hot and the food was great! What a fantastic time we had at Chitwan, Mom, Dad and 2 children aged 11 and 7. Loved getting up early and going on the elephant safari, absolute highlight of the trip. Kids loved sleeping in the lodge (they had their own room and heard the elephants and even a tiger in the middle of the night). Was fun having... more

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. The hotel itself is combined with an elephant safari and is eco-friendly with little electricity and what there is comes from solar sources along with the hot water available in the afternoons. The lodges (2) are of wooden and reed construction but surprisingly quiet between the rooms. Basic and functional. The restaurant is... more

Island Jungle Resort: we enjoyed our time here in Nov 2007 as it was peaceful and gave us many opportunities for jungle walks plus good opportunities with the elephants (including a 2 hour ride). We needed the many opportunities for walks as we did not see rhinos until the last (4th) walk. That final walk was definitely exciting and a... more

Tiger Tops Camp is not for those who: 1. want 5-star luxury accommodation; 2. hate damp sheets and clothes; 3. can't cope without electricity; 4. need hot water for shaving; 5. like a lay in each day! However, if you want peace and quiet (apart from Cicadas), great views of rhinos, monkeys, deer, exotic birds and butterflies, it's great- we... more

The tented camp was the first of our three Tiger Mountain accommodations and set the high standard by which all were run. We stayed for 2 nights. Arrival was an experience in itself. We flew from Kathmandu to Meghauly airstrip (which serves the camp and Tiger Tops Jungle Lodge) and laughed when the pilot and co-pilot joined us in eating... more

The accomodation is really basic - remember to take your own Mosquito nets as they provide mosquito coils for the night but thats all the protection you get! Take head torches - if you're like me and dont like hearing noises in the night and you've already put the supplied kerosene lamp outside believe me you'll be grateful! There is... more
